Ummbila Emoyeni Phase One comprises the development of a 155MW Wind Energy Facility (WEF) as well as the associated Electrical Grid Infrastructure (EGI). The following documents provide background to the Environmental Impact Assessment processes completed for the development of the project:
Wind Energy Facility Environmental Authorisation
The WEF received Environmental Authorisation in January 2023 (14-12-16-3-3-2-2160_WEF_EA.pdf). This Authorisation was subsequently amended to allow the project to be developed in Phases (14-12-16-3-3-2-2160-AM1.pdf). The layout and Environmental
Management Programmes for Phase One were approved in July 2023 (14-12-16-3-3-2-2160-MP1.pdf).
Electrical Grid Infrastructure Environmental Authorisation
The EGI received Environmental Authorisation in January 2023 (14-12-16-3-3-2-2162_Grid_EA.pdf). This Authorisation was subsequently amended to correct initial omissions by the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and Environmental Affairs (14-12-16-3-3-
2-2162-AM1.pdf) before being amended to allow the project to be developed in Phases (14-12-16-3-3-2-2162-AM2.pdf). The layout and Environmental Management Programmes for Phase One were approved in July 2023 (14-12-16-3-3-2-2162-MP1.pdf).
